Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Kavinder Gupta on Wednesday alleged that PDP, NC and Congress were coming together to form a government in the state “on the directions from Pakistan.”

Reacting to reports that the three parties were holding talks to form the next government in the state, which is currently under governor’s rule, he said, “They are coming together to form the government on directions of Pakistan just to keep BJP away.”

In a hurriedly called press conference at the party headquarters in Jammu, he alleged the decision of forming the government was taken in a meeting held in Dubai.

“The representatives of these parties had recently met members of Pakistani agencies. On their behest, they are cobbling the alliance.  First, on behest of Pakistan, they stayed away from democratic processes and now they are stitching an alliance,” he claimed.

Gupta, who has been the Speaker of the Assembly and later the Deputy Chief Minister during the PDP-BJP coalition said, “Pakistan doesn't want situation in Kashmir to improve...and these parties often keep them in good humour.”

Meanwhile, state Congress chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir while confirming the talks for the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir said NC, PDP and Congress were reaching to a consensus soon.

“We are ready to support secular forces. The formal meeting will take place soon regarding the formation of the government in the state as all the three parties are reaching a consensus,” Mir said.
Earlier, senior PDP leader Altaf Bukhari said that the three parties have decided to join hands to form the government.
