Protests may mar 'Kaala' shows

Last Updated 07 June 2018, 07:33 IST

The Karnataka High Court may have cleared the way for Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala’, but pro-Kannada activists who have taken umbrage at the star actor’s remarks have decided to stage protests in front of the theatres on Thursday.

Sources in the Tamil Film industry said the film was expected to be screened in anywhere between 120 and 150 screens across the state. “We expect the Karnataka government to provide security for screening the movie,” sources close to Rajinikanth said.

Kannada Rakshana Vedike president Narayana Gowda, however, said Rajinikanth as an actor has failed to consider the sensibilities of his fans in Karnataka.

Meanwhile in Chennai, Rajinikanth appealed to people of Karnataka to allow screening of his film.
