The Railway ministry on Tuesday said normal traffic has been restored in Kerala after repairing the tracks damaged by floods.

The ministry said three divisions of the Southern Railway were severely affected by flash floods, landslides and boulders falling on tracks.

"Railway teams worked with dedication round the clock to clear hurdles in the flood-hit sections and all sections in the main route of Kerala were opened," the Ministry said.

Headquarter and divisional teams of about 30 officers, 45 supervisors and about 450 other staff worked braving rain and flood waters to restore the tracks, it said.
