The Haryana government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking review of the judgment given by the court on the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The Apex Court in its judgement on March 20 this year had said that under the Act, government employees and citizens could not be arrested without prior permission and they could be arrested only after an investigation under the rules. The central government has also filed a review petition on the issue in the top court.
