Last Updated 27 August 2018, 06:40 IST

A group of senior students, studying at the boarding Gurukul school in Haryana’s Rohtak, have been accused of sodomising at least five of their junior students.

Some of these minor boys, from classes five and six, say they were being sexually exploited by their seniors on the campus for nearly a year. All the victims are below nine years of age and undergoing counselling by experts after the ordeal came to light.

The victim boys say they were often picked up at night and taken to the terrace or in the bathroom where they were sodomised by boys of classes ninth and tenth. They were also beaten and threatened if they resisted. The police have registered a case under relevant sections including the Protection of Children from Sexually Offences Act (POCSO).

The accused will be produced before the Court today.

The incident came to light on Rakshabandhan when the mother and sister of one of the boys studying in class six visited the campus. The boy started crying profusely. He pleaded with his mother to take him out of the school. It is then when the minor boy revealed that his seniors have been sexually exploiting him now for over a year.

The mother in panic created a hue and cry. Four other students of class five and six soon came forward to admit that they too were sexually exploited by these boys. The police have also booked the school staffers in the case.
