Political heat over Kerala’s solar fraud continued to steer proceedings in the ongoing Assembly session on Tuesday with protests by Opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) leading to adjournment of the House.
The Opposition legislators demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed in the wake of fresh bribery allegations made by solar fraud key accused Saritha S Nair.
During discussion on an adjournment motion moved by the Opposition, Leader of the Opposition V S Achuthanandan made remarks linking Saritha with Chandy’s family, triggering protests.
“I feel ashamed to be seated here as Leader of the Opposition against such a shameless chief minister,” Achuthanandan said.
