Last Updated 28 February 2019, 15:21 IST

Restrictions have been imposed in Kerala on engaging workers for outdoor jobs.

Reason: rising temperature and chances of sunstroke.

The state's labour commissioner said that those who are working on day shifts should be given break from 12 noon to 3 pm.

Areas that are about 3,000 feet above the sea level and are not prone to sunstroke have been exempted from the restriction, the commissioner said and added that the restriction had came into effect on February 26 and will be in place till April 30.
