JOIN USBasavanagudi Aquatics Centre (BAC) emerged overall champions of the junior category as the State Junior and Sub-Junior swimming championship came to an end here on Sunday.
BAC, with 681 points, lifted the title. Dolphin Aquatics collected 232 points to be the overall champions in the sub-junior category.
Bangalore Swim Research Centre finished second overall in the junior category with 563 points. In the sub-junior section, Dolphin, with 232 points, settled for the runners-up spot.
Bangalore Swimming Research Centre’s Srihari Natraj, who scored 1035 points, was the boys’ group I champion. Srihari had a good outing on the final day.
New meet mark
In the 200M freestyle, Srihari clocked 1:54.73 to clinch gold. He bettered the national mark of 1:54.90 set by Virdhawal Khade in Amritsar in 2008. Dolphin’s Sanjay CJ (1:58.43) of and Raj Vinayak Relekar (2:03.01) came second and third.
Suvana C Baskar, from Dolphin Aquatics, with 135 points, was crowned the girls’ group I champion. Suvana set two meet records.
