India resumed their first innings batting at 294/7 with Axar Patel and Washington Sundar on the crease at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday. After what seemed like signs of stumbling in the final session of day 2, the hosts marched on with Rishabh Pant's century and Washington Sundar's half-century.

Virat Kohli's men currently lead England by 92 runs. While Sundar is on 60, Patel has picked up 11 runs.
