Batter Joe Root reached a personal milestone by his run-tally rising up to 6000 in the World Test Championship. He has scored the most Test centuries as a home team player against India, 10, and his total centuries sum up to 39.

He scored 3 centuries in the course of the series, and his total runs amounted to 537 in series, rounding his career total in Test cricket to 13,543.

Ben Stokes became the first English captain, and the fifth in Test cricket's history, to claim five wickets and record a century in the same Test match. The other players who upheld the record are Denis Atkinson and Gary Sobers of West Indies, and Pakistan's former players Mushtaq Mohammad and Imran Khan.

Shubman Gill gained another record-breaking title of the being the first Asian player to hit a double century in Test match played in the SENA countries. The highest before him was 193 by Tillakaratne Dilshan at Lord's in 2011.
