The WFI selection committee picked the team after conducting trials at training centres in Patiala and Sonepat last week. Seven wrestlers each will compete in the men's freestyle and Greco-Roman category while as many have been picked for the women's freestyle.

The Asian Championship will be the first assignment for the wrestlers post the recently held WFI elections.

WFI secrertary general told IANS that the team will continue to train at the training centres and will leave two days before the competition. World Champion Sushil Kumar will not be taking part in the event as he has chosen other tournaments for London Olympics preparation.
