Merchants CC (2) win

In a low-scoring affair, Merchants Cricket Club (2) bowlers shone as they pulled off a 11-run victory over Duleep Cricketers in the KSCA Group I, Division IV league cum knockout tournament for the Metro Shield here.

After the match was reduced to 20 overs a side due to a wet outfield, Merchants batted first and posted a respectable 132 all out.

Hemraj was the star of the show with the ball for Duleep as he returned figures of five for 16.

Shabaz Pasha (40) and Anil (30) made valuable contributions with the bat for Merchants.

Chasing a gettable total, Ashok stood out for Duleep with 43 but the other batsmen failed as Duleep could post only 121 for nine. Gautham (3/13), Aevant (2/16) and Navees (2/19) shared the majority of the wickets for Merchants.

In another game, Wadiyar Cricket Club beat Friends XI Cricket Club by 100 runs.
