Mohit falls in round one

 Sixth seed Ramkumar Ramnathan advanced to the second round but national champion Mohit Mayur Prakash yet again made a disappointing first-round exit in the $10,000 ITF Futures tournament here on Monday.

Ramkumar beat a fighting Timon Reichelt 6-4, 6-3 while Mohit lost 7-6, 2-6, 2-6 to Korean Duck Hee Lee in their respective first round clashes.

In Delhi also, Mohit had lost in first round and in Bhopal last week, he could not progress beyond second round.

Ashwin Vijayragavan scored a fluent 6-2, 6-2 win over Jatin Dahiya but Ronit Singh Bisht had to work hard to beat Lakshit Sood 5-7, 7-5, 6-3.

German fourth seed Torsten Wietoska routed C V Peranamallur 6-2, 6-0.

Last week’s winner and second seed N Sriram Balaji will open his campaign against unseeded Chandril Sood while top seed Jeevan Nedunchezhian faces wild card Prateek Pushkar Baxi on Tuesday.
