Prasanna in main draw

 Nikhil Niranjan, PM Prasanna and Sandesh Kantimahanti, both of Karnataka made it to the main draw as qualifiers were spotted in the RT Narayan Memorial Trophy AITA under-16 National Series tennis championship at the KSLTA courts here on Sunday.

Niranjan defeated Prashantha 6-2, 6-1 in the final qualifying round of the boys singles, while Kantimahanti beat Praveen Sundaram 6-1, 6-2. Prasanna ousted Arya Raj 6-0, 6-1.

In the girls’ section, four State girls entered the main draw including Muskan Ranjan, Reshma Maruri, Chandrika Joshi and Chaitali Narde.

A total of 48 matches are scheduled in the first round on Monday, with 32 in boys singles and 16 in girls singles.
