"We have sold out the entire capacity of 24,500 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and no ticket left. The tickets were sold out three days in advance," an organiser claimed.
"A packed house is something not very common in Indian football. We also saw a packed house during the last match here between Lajong and Air India," he added.
Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan coach Karim Bencherifa also sounded enthusiastic before taking on the local favourite in front of a packed house.
"We heard a lot about local support in Air India match. But our team is quite prepared. We played in front of a 90,000 crowd against East Bengal few days back in Kolkata - half of them were our fans. The team is well prepared," Bencherifa said.
"We know it's going to be a tough match. Bagan just beat East Bengal in front of 90,000 people, so they have the right momentum as well," Lajong Secretary Larsing Ming said.
"There is a buzz in the city about Shillong and we have to fulfill a lot of expectations," he said.

Bagan rules out injured Barreto
Mohun Bagan striker Jose Ramirez Barreto, who suffered a hamstring injury during their last encounter with East Bengal, has been ruled out of Thursday's fixture.
Bagan coach Karim Bencherifa said the Brazilian forward suffered hamstring pull and is expected to be examined by doctors this evening.
"Only then can we say more on his injury. We feel he may not be available for some two weeks or more," he added.
Another key player, Mohanraj has been suspended for a match for receiving two yellow cards in their last match.
