Countdown begins for Navaraspur National Music Festival

 All arrangements have been made for the inauguration of the 13th Navaraspur National Music Festival in the city on Friday. 

The city of Adil Shahi kings had hosted the festival in 2011. It was started in 1990.
The three-day musical extravaganza is expected to ethral thousands of music connoisseurs at Navaraspur’s famed Sangeet Mahal. A grand stage of 80X40 measurement has been erected near Gol Gumbaz. Another beautiful stage has been set up near Gagan Mahal in the heart of the city.

The city looks garbage-free thanks to a cleanliness drive. The district adminstration leaving no stone unturned to recreate the glory of the music festival which was hugely popular during Adil Shahi kings’ reign and the officials are working day and night for the success of the festival.

Different musical and cultural programmes have been organised at three different stages -  Kumara Valmeeki Vedike of Navaraspur, Chand Bibi Vedike on Gol Gumbaz premises and Nagachandra Vedike near Gagan Mahal.

The main historical monuments in the city will be illuminated at night as part of the event. A colourful musical fountain has been set up behind the Sangeet Mahal. Similarly, another fountain will enthrall the people at Nari Mahal’s pond.

Paintings

The paintings of the eight kings of Adil Shahi dynasty, who ruled over Vijayapura, will  also displayed. Art works, depicting the glory of these kings’ durbar, created by more than 20 artists of the State, have been kept at Nari Mahal, in front of Sangeet Mahal.
Also, 25 paintings of  three students of Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat, Bengaluru, have been exhibited outside this building.

 ‘Confluence of Art Arts’, a beautiful art work made of Plaster of Paris by Prabhu Bhrungimath of Toravi, attracts every one’s attention on the door of the Sangeet Mahal.  An exhibition, comprising more than 100 stalls, has also been arranged along with a food mela.
