Deve Gowda to campaign in more than 60 constituencies

JD(S) chief H D Deve Gowda noted that K S Lingesh was given the ticket from Belur constituency to ensure equal prominence to all castes.

He was speaking at the party’s convention here on Friday.

He said, the party had not taken any hasty decision while giving tickets to the candidates of Assembly elections.

He said that it would be wrong to give tickets to only Vokkaliga candidates in all of the seven constituencies, as there was also a strong Vokkaliga and Kuruba presence in the district.

He rued that he had tasted more bitter political experiences from the district.
Gowda said that he was ready for an open discussion with Congress leaders regarding Krishna and Cauvery issues.

He said that he was himself a star campaigner for the party and that he would campaign in more than 60 constituencies till April 3.

 “I am least bothered about my health,” he said.
