Kerala seeks Rs 100 cr to rehabilitate endosulfan victims

She was addressing a review meeting that was held to discuss the special health package to Endosulfan victims at Kanhagad District Hospital. Speaking at the meeting, she assured of appointing 70 additional junior health nurses, 31 additional junior health inspectors and physiotherapists at all the hospitals that come under endosulfan effected gram panchayats.

“Six activists and 11 ICDS supervisors will be appointed keeping in mind 12 hospitals. The district health officer has been instructed to provide laboratory facilities to community health centre and inspect the medical equipment. City scanning facility will be provided at Kasargod district hospital and Kanhagad district hospital. The Assistant Commissioner has been shouldered with the responsibility of proper implementation of health package,” the minister informed and added that those who have not been added in the endosulfan victims list will be added at the earliest.

Guaranteeing of issuing certificate to the endosulfan victims, she affirmed that the government will bear all the medical expenses of the patients. The patients will be allotted with bio-metric card too, she said.

MLA Pallipram Balan, K V Kunhiraman, C T Ahmed Ali, ZP President P P Shayamala Devi, District Collector Anand Singh, Health Department Director Dr M K Jeevan were present at the meet.
