Singer Janaki to perform in Mysuru tomorrow

S Janaki, a renowned singer, will perform in Mysuru at a programme organised  by S Janaki Charitable Trust, at the Open Air Theatre in Manasagangothri on October 28.

According to the trust president Naveen, it is the last public programme of S Janaki. She had announced six months ago that she would not sing at public programmes. However, owing to repeated requests, she agreed to perform, he said.

Film actors Shivraj Kumar, B Saroja Devi, Shylashree, Sahukar Janaki, Bharati Vishnuvardhan, Srinath, music director Hamsalekha and others will attend the event.

Meanwhile, Janaki’s son Muralikrishna told DH that she announced retirement a few months ago. But, she will complete the assignments accepted before announcing the retirement. She has several assignments to complete,” he said. However, he has not clarified whether the programme on October 28 will be S Janaki’s last programme in Karnataka.
