Fake voter IDs seized in Mundargi

Election officials, on Thursday, raided a few houses in the town and seized duplicate copies of voter ID cards and Aadhaar cards. They were hoarded by Congress workers, so that they can supposedly use them for proxy voting and to distribute money among voters.

The officials acted on a complaint by BJP activists. Election officer Shivanamnd Nayak said action w would be taken as per the rules.

BJP leaders charged that Congress candidate Ramakrishna Doddamani was scared of losing and so the party was resorting to such tactics. They said Congress leaders were telling people that they should vote for Congress if they wanted houses to be built on Ashraya sites.
