‘Govt paid contractors Rs 1.34K crore for poll funding’

B S Yeddyurappa

BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa has accused the coalition government of making an advance payment of Rs 1,344 crore to contractors for incomplete projects in Hassan for election financing.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Yeddyurappa said, “Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy speaks lightly of Income Tax raids. The tax officials have conducted raids after they received information about the contractors being paid in advance for five major ongoing projects in Hassan. Kumaraswamy is answerable for all this,” the former chief minister charged. He added, “The coalition dispensation in the state is a 20% government and that more scam skeletons will tumble out of the coalition closet in the coming days.”
