The Congress has released a video clip in which BJP leader Baburao Chinchansur brags about luring newly-elected Gulbarga MP Umesh Jadhav into resigning as a Congress legislator.
Jadhav resigned as Chincholi legislator, joined the BJP and defeated veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge in the Lok Sabha election.
“After I lost from Gurmitkal, I was the one who got him (Jadhav) to resign. I was the one who got him to contest (against Kharge) and I was the one who caused him (Kharge) to be defeated,” Chinchansur is heard saying in a short, 39-second clip. Chinchansur was earlier with the Congress and was seen as a close aide of veteran Kharge. The five-time MLA joined the BJP last year.
In the video, Chinchansur is also heard claiming that Jadhav was offered to be made a union minister.
