IIM-C to offer PG diploma online

Speaking to reporters regarding the golden jubilee celebrations and the programmes planned for the event, Director IIM- C, Shekar Chaudhuri said a new technology has been developed to offer PG diploma online. “We have begun online General Manager certificate programme. It is a precursor to online PG Diploma, which we will be offering later,” he said.

Making a presentation of various programmes offered by IIM-C, Chaudhuri said the programme is aimed at providing an opportunity to more number of students. He said the institute has also sought government’s permission to grant degree. Chaudhuri said the IIM-C has also plans to start long-distance education through satellite.

Chairman of the Board of Directors, IIM- C, Ajit Balakrishnan said the institute is all set to help management schools across the country by offering one-year training course for management teachers.

On the quota for Other Backward Classes, he said the IIM- C has already complied with the OBC quota of 26 per cent while the process is still on in other IIMs.
