The two-year post graduate programme in management (PGP) of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB)  has been ranked 19th in the Financial Times Global Masters in Management 2016 ranking.

The IIMB made a debut in 2015 edition of the rankings when it occupied the 26th position. This year’s ranking, therefore, marks a jump of seven places with improvement in several parameters.

A release from the IIMB said that it was the only management school in India to lead in school diversity with 28% women in the two-year programme, 21% women faculty and 25% of women on the school advisory board.

The top 20 schools, ranked by FT this year, include the University of St. Gallen, HEC Paris, London Business School, Esade Business School, among others.

“It’s a proud moment at IIMB. We focus on building leaders in a diverse ecosystem, as it helps to draw upon the widest possible range of views and experiences,” said Prof Raghavan Srinivasan, director in-charge, IIMB.

The 12th annual FT Global Masters in Management 2016 ranking features 93 masters in management programmes, up from 70 in 2014. The ranking is based on a relative assessment of the world’s top pre-experience degrees in general management, calculated according to data provided by schools and alumni. The data for the ranking is collected from two surveys: one of the participating business schools and the other from the alumni who graduated three years ago - the class of 2013.
