Inflow of water from Maharashtra into river Krishna and its tributaries lessened for the third consecutive day. This led to a reduction in the rivers' water levels.

Four of the hitherto inundated low-lying bridges in Chikkodi taluk, were thrown open for traffic on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, five other bridges continue to remain underwater for the third consecutive week.

Rainfall in Maharashtra dwindled and if the same situation continues, the rivers' water levels might recede to normal level; and below the danger mark.

Inflow into river Krishna diminished to 1.26 lakh cusecs on Tuesday. From Rajapur barrage, it was 1.03 lakh cusecs and 23,232 cuscecs from the river Doodhganga. Hippargi barrage witnessed an inflow of 1.32 lakh cusecs and an outflow of 1.31 lakh cusecs.
