Adichunchanagiri Mutt seer Nirmalanandanatha Swami called on the family members of those who lost their lives in the Kodagu floods and landslides and comforted them along with providing monitory help from the Mutt.

On Wednesday, the seer visited the families of the flood victims and distributed
Rs 50,000 each to 16 families.

Listening to the woes of the family members, he promised to extend all possible help to the flood-affected in education and jobs. He asked the people not to lose hope.

Nirmalanandanatha Swami also visited Hattihole, Moovattoklu, Hemmetalu and Kandanakolli, which experienced major landslides.

The seer also visited the government school in Makkandur on the way and interacted with students, and addressed them on environment conservation and global warming.

“The people of Kodagu are not destroying forests but are planting trees. The flash flood and landslides took place due to heavy rains. Kodagu has a good climate. But the problems in other regions have been affecting the district,” he opined.
