Kodagu registers good results in II PU Commerce stream

Kodagu district has stood third in the second PUC examination results in the state. The results in Arts stream has decreased to a greater extent when compared to that of the previous year. However, the Science and Commerce students have done well.

In Madikeri taluk, 84 per cent of the Arts students have passed. Of the total 207 students who appeared for the examination, 175 have passed.

In Commerce, 130 out of the total 139 students, who wrote the examination, have passed registering a good 93 pass percentage.

In Science, a total of 36 students had appeared for the examination and 21 among them have passed (Result percentage is 85).

As many as 207 students from six aided colleges had written the exams. Among them, 159 students (76 per cent) have passed. In Commerce, out of 262 students, 219 have passed (83 per cent). Among the aided colleges, only Moornadu college has Science combination.

All the 11 students have passed thereby bringing cent percent results. Aided colleges have achieved 81 per cent results. 

Among the Arts students in four non-aided colleges, 29 out of the total 38 passed (76 per cent results). In Commerce, out of 246, 236 have passed (95 percent).

Out of the 138 students who had taken the examination in Science, 135 have passed (97 per cent). Altogether, the aided colleges have achieved 94 per cent results.

Virajpet taluk
In the four government colleges in Virajpet taluk, only 153 students of the total 306 who wrote the examination have passed registering 50% results. 156 students from Commerce stream had written the examination. Among them, 133 have passed and the pass percentage is 85 per cent. Virajpet and Ponnampet has Science colleges and there are only three aided colleges. 16 among the 24 students have passed.

The taluk only three aided colleges. Only 39 out of 70 students have passed. 231 out of 238 students have passed in Commerce (97 per cent results).  Out of 122 students, 121 students have passed in Science registering 99 per cent results. The aided colleges have obtained 90 per cent results.

There are 13 non-aided colleges in the taluk. In Arts, 100 out of 159 students have passed. 448 out of 520 students have passed in Commerce with 86 per cent results. Out of 262 students, 248 have passed in Science. Non-aided colleges have obtained 84 per cent results.

Somwarpet taluk
The taluk has nine government colleges. 287 students out of the total 388 have passed out in Arts (73 per cent results).  In Commerce, 251 out of 320 students have passed. As many as 60 out of 102 students have passed in Science (53 per cent results).

The total percentage in the taluk is 73 per cent.  There are four aided PU colleges in the taluk. 102 students out of the total 179 students have passed in Arts. 241 students had appeared for the examination in Commerce. Among them, 169 have passed. In Science, 10 out of 18 students have passed. The overall pass percentage is 64. There are 11 non-aided colleges and 204 students out of the total 241 have passed in Arts (85 per cent).

Out of the 487 total students, 448 have passed in Commerce (91 per cent results) and out of 187 students, 167 have passed in Science. The total pass percentage is  89.50.
