MLA to hold meeting with banks

In the backdrop of delay in sanctioning bank loan for constructing houses under Ashraya scheme, MLA C T Ravi said that he will hold discussion with the bank authorities.

Speaking at Karnataka Municipal Reforms Projects (KMRP) district implementation committee meeting here on Monday, he said there is no progress in the completion of houses under Ashraya scheme owing to the delay in getting bank loan. A meeting of beneficiaries and the banks will be convened shortly to solve the problem.

Joint committee of PWD, CMC, Nirmithi Kendra and Land Army Corporation has been constituted to develop Mahatma Gandhi Road. The committee will prepare a detailed report.

The contractor has been directed to complete the work on concreting Dattapeeta road by May end, MLA said.

He said “the construction of resorts in has resulted in water crisis in the district. In this regard, single window policy should be implemented to check the mushrooming of illegal resorts in the district. Tender for widening Rathnagiri road will be invited within 15 days.

A sum of Rs 3 crore is available for developing the road. About six to seven buildings have to be vacated for widening the road. The CMC president and Commissioner will hold discussion with the building owners on vacating the building,” he added.
