Public appealed to join hands to rehabilitate flood victims

Presiding over a meeting at DC’s office, he said more than 10 lakh people have become homeless. He urged the general public to contribute generously.

Deputy Commissioner R Narayanaswamy said donations are being raised with the help of Tahsildar. Funds are being raised even at the hobli level.

MLA C T Ravi called upon the people to join hands with the government in undertaking rehabilitation facilities.

Padayathra held

District administration took out padayathra to raise funds for the flood victims. Padayathra commenced from old taluk office premises and passed through Mahathma Gandhi Road, Indira Gandhi Road and Ambedkar Road. MLA C T Ravi, Balehonnur Mutt seer Sri Veerasomeshwara Shivacharya Swamiji, Jayabasavananda Swamiji, Shankara Deva mutt seer Chandrashekara Swamiji, ZP President Gayathri Shanthe Gowda, Congress district president M L Murthy, BJP district President M S Bhoje Gowda, DCC Bank President S L Bhoje Gowda, Tahsildar Dayananda, Veena and others also took part in the padayathra.
