Tulu folklore sports meet today

Speaking to media persons on Friday, Organising Committee President B Jayaker Shetty Indrali informed that Shiroor Mutt seer Laxmivaratheertha Sripada will inaugurate the sports fest along with Milagres Church (Kallianpur) Priest Rev Fr Marshal Saldanha and Jamia Masjid Udupi religious head Maulana Abdul Rahim Shirani.

Udupi MLA Raghupathy Bhat will preside. Udupi-Chikmagalur MP D V Sandananda Gowda, Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, Kundapur MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty and former MP Vinaykumar Sorake will be the chief guests on the occasion. Home Minister Dr V S Achraya will be the chief guest for the valedictory ceremony, he said.

‘Lagori,’ ‘Kuttidonne,’ ‘Jubili,’ ‘Berchendu,’ ‘Kallata,’ ‘Chennemane’ and ‘Kotthalige’ cricket are the games to be conducted.

Secretary Ishwar Shetty Chitpadi, SKDRDP Director Keshav Gowda, Planning Officer Dayasheela and others were present.
