BJP national president Amit Shah held a roadshow at Yelahanka, here on Wednesday.

The roadshow, which began at around 6.25 pm, traversed several localities in Yelahanka, and concluded in front of the Kempegowda statue.

The BJP is attempting to wrest the Chikkaballapur constituency from Congress, which the former union minister and coalition candidate M Veerappa Moily is seeking to represent for the third time. Since its formation in 1977, the BJP has not managed to win it even once. After losing by a thin margin of 9,000 votes in 2014, BJP is expecting to win this seat for the very first time.

Earlier, Shah was welcomed with a huge apple garland weighing around 300 kgs. Among the leaders who participated in the road show included BJP candidate from the constituency B N Bachchegowda, BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao, Yelahanka MLA S R Vishwanath and others.
