Deve Gowda may contest from Hassan

Even as the campaigning for Prajwal Revanna the JD(S) candidate from Hassan seat has gathered steam, rumours about party supremo H D Deve Gowda seeking re-election from doing rounds in the region.

After leaving the seat to his grandson, Gowda was contemplating contesting from Tumkur or Bangalore North. But with no consensus among the rank and file of the coalition partner Congress, the former prime minister’s search for a safe seat is far from over.

Also an astrologer has advised Gowda to contest from Hassan. So, efforts are on to bring the senior Gowda back to his native constituency.

Meanwhile, Prajwal Revanna told reporters in Hassan, “If Deve Gowda contests from Hassan, I would work hard for his victory and ensure that he wins the election by a margin of six lakh votes,” he said.
