A complaint against sitting BJP MP Pratap Simha, who is seeking re-election from Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency, has been filed with VV Puram police on Monday for violation of model code of conduct.

It has to be recalled that president of Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike K S Shivaramu had complained about the MP with Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar, also the district election officer, that Simha has despatched 50,000 copies of the booklets on the achievements of the Union government through the Postal Department without mentioning the addresses. It was complained that Simha had not obtained the permission for it from the Election Commission.

Sector officer C Umesh, who inquired about the complaint, has lodged a complaint with the police.

Also, it has to be recalled that Postal Superintendent Prakash had issued a circular to the department personnel to deliver the booklets carefully, not giving any room for complaints. He had warned of severe action, if he received any complaints from the BJP about non-delivery. The DC has already issued a notice to the postal superintendent, seeking an explanation.
