Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has urged the Defence Ministry to continue organising the Aero India show in Bengaluru in future too.

Kumaraswamy made such a request to Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during a high-level meeting after the conclusion of Aero India 2019 on Sunday. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Kumaraswamy is said to have thanked Nirmala for deciding to organise this edition in Bengaluru. Earlier, there were talks of the flagship event being shifted from Bengaluru to Lucknow.

Kumaraswamy is also said to have expressed regret over the Surya Kiran air crash and the fire mishap that gutted hundreds of cars. Speculations are rife that the two incidents would go against Bengaluru’s claim to host the next edition of the bi-annual air show.

During the meeting, the reason for the fire at the parking area and measures taken after the incident were discussed. It was decided that both the central and state government departments and agencies concerned would work in coordination for relief works. It was also decided to provide all help to the victims who lost their vehicles.
