To ensure peaceful polling, the district administration has clamped prohibitory orders in the district from 6 pm on April 16 to 6 pm on April 19.
A release from District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Annies Kanmani Joy said that party workers cannot hold political meetings, burst crackers or take out procession during the period.
More than five people cannot gather together in public places.
The use of loudspeakers within a 200-metre radius of the polling booth is banned on the day of polling. Shandy market is also banned on April 18.
