Udupi DC clarifies on NOTA

Voting is a right and every voter has a moral obligation to vote ethically. NOTA (None of the Above) is an option and no voter can be coerced into voting for NOTA, Udupi District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati has clarified in a press statement.

Two articles had been published in Deccan Herald on March 24 and April 4 under the headlines 'Campaigning for NOTA is also violation of code of conduct' and 'NOTA: Udupi DC's statement draws flak.'

The deputy commissioner issued the clarification to clear any confusion in the minds of voters.
