War memorial at Kushalnagar Sainik School

Air Marshal R K S Bhadauria called upon cadets to undergo advanced training, join the defence forces and serve the nation.

Speaking after inaugurating the war memorial and the ‘Wall of Heroes’ at Kogadu Sainik School located on Koodige agricultural farm near Kushalnagar on Thursday, he said:

“The Sainik School in Koodige is the second biggest in the state. It is equipped with modern facilities. Cadets here must make the most of the facilities here. Cadets must develop honesty, discipline and perseverance. This will help them achieve great things in the Army,” he added.

He advised students to maintain good physique and develop intellectual abilities. He advised them to excel in the school curriculum.

Air Marshal Bhadauria lauded the principal and staff of the Sainik School for erecting the war memorial.

Sainik School, Koodige, Group Captain R R Lal said it was the duty of all civilians to respect the sacrifices of brave martyrs.

“The memorial was built for that very purpose. It is dedicated to the memory of soldiers who attained martyrdom during the Indo-China war in 1962, Indo-Pak wars in 1947, 1965 and 1971 and during Operation Vijay of Kargil in 1999.

The pictures of 21 Param Veer Chakra awardees and quotes of brave martyrs are engraved on the memorial.

Air Marshal (retd) K C Cariappa, Vice principal Lt Col Seema Tripathi and administrative officer D Mathew were present. A march past was held by students on the occasion.
