MCC corporator decides to name daughter after Kathua victim

Mangalore City Corporation corporator and State Congress Women's Committee general secretary Pratibha Kulai has decided to prefix the name of the victim of rape and murder at Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir along with her daughter's name.

Kulai's daughter's name is Prithvi.

"The Kathua incident is barbaric, inhuman and gruesome. As a woman, I condemn the incident. I am ashamed to be a woman after the incident," she told reporters.
"I've decided to use the victim's name as a prefix along with my daughter's name," she said.

"The Indian women are in distress due to atrocities committed by self-proclaimed BJP and Hindu workers across the country. Mangaluru is haunted by such elements," she charged. "I was assaulted when I went for campaigning at Kodikere during the Lok Sabha elections in 2014. My Hindu brothers had passed urine on my feet," she claimed.
