The monsoon revived in full force in some parts of the state on Thursday.

Heavy showers were reported from many parts of Shivamogga district, after a lull of one week. There were rains in Hosanagar and Teerthahalli taluks.

The monsoon has resumed in full force in the catchment areas of the Tunga reservoir. The Tunga dam in Gajanur of Shivamogga district received an inflow of 39,325 cusecs on Thursday, while the outflow was 37,162 cusecs.

There was drizzling in Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Sagar and Shikaripur. The Gundya stream is overflowing following heavy rain. This hit traffic on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru highway, especially that of heavy vehicles.

The Hosamata bridge has also been inundated. The bathing ghat at Subrahmanya was flooded for the second consecutive day.

Heavy showers continued in Kodagu district on Wednesday night, causing water bodies in the district to overflow. Rains were reported on Thursday too.

Inflow to the Harangi reservoir continued thanks to good rains in Madikeri, Madapura and Somwarpet. The flood situation continued to be grim in Bhagamandala, Talacauvery and Napoklu.

The movement of heavy vehicles, except those carrying essential commodities like cooking gas and milk, has been restricted on the Sampaje-Kushalnagar stretch of the Mangaluru Road due to landslides.

Due to landslide on the Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road in the ghat section, changes were introduced in the schedule of trains plying on the route.

The Karwar-Mangaluru Junction-Yeswantpur Tri- Weekly Express was cancelled.
