Mysore varsity gets new VC

Prof K S Rangappa on Friday took charge as the 24th vice-chancellor of the University of Mysore, from the acting V-C Prof B Shivaraj.

Rangappa told media that he got a call from the Governor H R Bhardwaj also the chancellor of the universities in the morning, appointing him as the vice-chancellor. He met the Governor in Bangalore and received the order.

Rangappa, who is the incumbent V-C of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), succeeds Prof V G Talawar, who retired on December 10.
