A retired IAS officer died on the spot after he came under the tractor while tilling his land at Byadarahalli in Pandavapura taluk on Thursday.
S N Nagaraj (62), a KAS officer promoted to IAS cadre, is deceased. He had retired as the deputy commissioner of Raichur in 2016.
Nagaraj was tilling his land using the tractor on the outskirts of Siddaiahanakoppal in the taluk on Thursday morning. The mishap occurred at around 12.30 pm when the tractor overturned and he got trapped under it. He died on the spot, sources said.
He had served as registrar of University of Mysore, ZP secretary of Mandya Zilla Panchayat and Special DC of Bengaluru city.
He was married to Magadi former legislator Balakrishna’s sister. He leaves behind his wife, son and daughter.
