Last Updated 28 January 2019, 09:46 IST

Former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said that there is no question of him becoming chief minister again.

Speaking to media persons, here, on Monday, he reacted to the statement of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy. It has to be noted that, Kumaraswamy said he is ready to step down. His rant came as some Congress legislators, including ministers, hailed Siddaramaiah as their chief minister, on Sunday.

We have given the chief ministers post to the JD(S), following the formation of the JD(S)-Congress coalition, he added.

Reacting to the statements of his supporters and the response of Kumaraswamy, Siddaramaiah said, We have to rein in our MLAs. Can the JD(S) leaders control them? So, we will do the needful in our party, he said.

I will discuss the issue with Kumaraswamy. There is no discord in the government. The media is creating confusion, by seeking responses from various leaders, under various contexts, and projecting them in a different light, he said.
