Polls for 11 Council seats on June 11

Elections to 11 Legislative Council seats will be held on June 11, as per the notification issued by the Election Commission of India on Tuesday.

The elections are being held as 11 MLCs, elected from the Legislative Assembly, will be completing their term on June 17.

While the notification will be issued on May 24, the last date for filing nominations is May 31.

The nominations will be scrutinised on June 1, while June 4 is the last date for withdrawal of the same.

The polling will be held on June 11 between 9 am and 4 pm, while counting of votes begins at 5 pm.

The MLCs who are retiring are: B J Puttaswamy, M R Seetharam, Motamma, D S Veeraiah, Syed Mudeer Aga, Somanna Bevinamarad, Raghunath Malkapure, Bhanuprakash, C M Ibrahim, K Govindaraju and B S Suresh.
