"Section 144 CrPC has been clamped in areas coming within two kms radius of Vidhan Soudha effective from October 11 till the midnight of October 13," a police release here said today.

As per the orders, political parties, anganwadi workers, Kannada outfits, farmers' organisations, labour and students organisations have been prohibited from organising rasta rokos, processions, dharna or resorting to strikes, which will disturb traffic and law and order.

Police also prohibited gathering of more than five persons, holding of public meetings, carrying of weapons and burning of effigies, among others.

Governor H R Bhardwaj had directed Yeddyurappa to prove his majority in the assembly after 19 MLAs revolted against him and withdrew their support to the BJP Government.
