Rains continue to pound D-K, Kodagu

Heavy rain that lashed the Dakshina Kannada district for the last few days receded on Monday.

In the last 24 hours, Bantwal received the highest of 57.7 mm rainfall.

The house belonging to Hasanabba was partially damaged at Kemral in Kinnigoli on Sunday night.

Madikeri and Bhagamandala received good rainfall on Monday. An incident of soil caving in has been reported in Madikeri.

Owing to this, a retaining wall on Race Course Road in Madikeri is on the verge of collapse. Sampaje has received 55 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours, followed by Bhagamandala - 37 mm  and Madikeri - 26 mm. The inflow of water into the Harangi reservoir was 8,992 cusecs and the outflow 8,038 cusecs.
