After private schools claimed there was lack of clarity on the exclusion of the ‘others’ category from the expenditure list online for RTE reimbursements, the Education department has extended time to enable the schools to furnish expenditure details.
The private schools association has claimed that there was an overdue of
Rs 600-800 crore for schools. “About 12,000 schools are in dire need of money. Timely reimbursement of RTE fee will be of great help to them,” said Shashi Kumar D, general secretary, KAMS. Commissioner of Public Instructions Jaffer said delay was due to overhaul of the entire process. “There is no intention of denying any legitimate expenditure but it has to be through a controlled process. We will extend the date for ten days” he added.
