Teacher on poll duty dies of heart attack

A government school teacher, who was deputed for election duty at Surpur, died of a heart attack while on duty on Monday.

Deceased Shivaputrappa Sangappa Kodla (45), a native of Kanamasaga in Aland taluk was a teacher at Govt Urdu School in Shahpur taluk.

He was deputed to booth number 170 at Mushtalli. Shivaputrappa developed uneasiness while collecting poll material at Pradhu College in the town. He was soon rushed to the government hospital, where he failed to respond to treatment and died.

He is survived by wife Mahadevi, a government school teacher, and a son.
