More than 160 recruiters took part in the final placement season for the 2015-17 batch of MBA Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) students of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB).

The placement process, in which 411 students took part, concluded on Thursday. They received more than 450 offers in total. Ten students opted out of the process to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.

Before the start of the final placement season, 162 pre-placement offers had been extended to students based on their performance during their summer internships and 133 students had accepted the offers. More than 15 students were offered overseas placements and six students of the previous batch, who had lost their campus placement jobs due to restructuring, were successfully placed this year.

Global banks such as Goldman Sachs, Citibank, HSBC, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank took part in the recruitment process. Boston Consulting Group, Accenture Strategy, Deloitte and McKinsey & Co were some of the companies in strategy consulting. Several offers were received for general manager roles and sales and marketing roles. Firms like Samsung, Tech Mahindra, Microsoft and Honeywell also took part. Harsha Bhattad, placement representative of the institute said over 25% of them were first-time recruiters.
