IT-BT Minister K J George said that 500 gram panchayats (GPs) in the state have been provided free wifi services and the rest will have them soon.
Speaking after inaugurating free wifi services for 180 GPs in the district here on Tuesday, George said that the state government would provide wifi services to all the GPs in the state in phased manner.
The service would help local body members availing 100 MB Internet services per day to browse various government websites.
Internet services are vital in today's world and hence rural people are being provided free wifi, he stated.
