ULB polls: Highest voter turnout in Bidar

Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Bidar district clocked the highest poll percentage at 81.19 while Raichur witnessed the lowest at 60.

Tumakuru is the only other district which has crossed the 80% voting percentage mark. Here 80.34% of the total electorate exercised their franchise

The final statistics of the voting percentage of the 102 ULBs that went to polls on Friday has been released by the State Election Commission.

Among the city corporations, Tumakuru witnessed the highest voting percentage (59.34%), followed by Shivamogga (58.48%)and Mysuru City Corporation (50.52%).

The counting of votes will be taken up from 8 am on September 3 at jurisdictional district headquarters for city corporations and jurisdictional taluk headquarters for other ULBs.

All the three parties, the Congress, the BJP and the JD(S) are looking at winning the maximum number of seats to galvanise the party cadres for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The JD(S) and the Congress, which are alliance partners in the coalition government, went alone in the municipality polls.
